Thoughts For Thursday: Obsessions

Found the perfect striped sweater for fall...been dying to find something to look great under my pink puffer vest:

And what a great price at under $50.00!

I'm trying to channel this look...

wear that J. Crew puffer vest to work with a dress and boots!

I am all about the Boho chic look and I just adore this floral crochet top. I'd style it just like Andee did...casual, yet gorgeous:

A steal at $26.00 for something as unique as this!

This paisley top is so cute...you could definitely dress it up or down:

And it's under $20.00! This is why I love Forever 21...even though I'm 31...

In just a bit, I'm headed to my 2nd barre class this week...my obsession is already coming back! It killed me on Monday, but I know it is worth it.

Monday Musings: Barre, Hot Yoga & Coloring Books {aka Random Sh**}

What a nice morning...my husband decided to go to the gym before work, which meant he got to take Tanner to school this morning instead of me. Now I can take my time at home with Breckin and Farrah, and then we are heading to the gym around 9:30 so I can get some cardio in and then go to a 10:30 barre class. It is my first barre class since having Farrah! I am excited, but hoping I'm not in a world of hurt afterward. However, no pain, no gain, right?

I plan to get back to doing a barre class at least twice a week. I have a friend that teaches on Saturday mornings at my gym, so I'm definitely making her class a regular thing starting this week.

Speaking of getting back into certain workouts, I bought a Groupon a few months back for 10 hot yoga classes at Bikram Charleston. {GREAT deal because it works out to $3.50 per class! It's usually $15 per class.}

It has been almost two years since I've taken a hot yoga class. I plan to use my 10 classes going on Sundays over the next ten weeks. It will be a nice stretch session after a week of workouts. I really want to get my flexibility back...believe it or not, there was a time when I could do this with ease:

I think between barre and hot yoga, I can accomplish this again. I can always get close with LOTS of stretching, but it used to be something I could just pop into without a lot of effort. It definitely takes a lot of effort now.

Total change of subject, but I just ordered these personalized coloring and activity books for the kids from Frecklebox. I think I'm going to save them for Christmas gifts. I heard about the site while watching GMA...you should check it out because they have tons of cute stuff.

Excuse my dog hair-ridden rug. Ugh.

Anyway, this weekend was pretty low key. My husband attended an all-day bachelor party thing on Saturday, so it was just the kids and me. On Sunday, we finally tackled cleaning the garage. I attempted to go for a run with the double jogging stroller on Sunday morning, but found out the front tires are loose because a couple nuts and washers came out...so I'm heading to Ace Hardware after the gym to see if I can find something to fix it until I can get the correct parts from Baby Trend. Nothing worse than getting all ready and into a workout only to have your efforts squashed by something like that! I was bummed.

I did make it to the grocery store to load up for another week of healthy eating. I made this for lunch yesterday {with plenty of leftovers} - see my recipe here.

Hope y'all had a great weekend and have an even better week!

Tie-Dye Maxi Skirt

{Billabong Locket Convertible Maxi Skirt / Similar}

I have been waiting so long to wear this skirt! I bought it near the end of my pregnancy thinking I could wear it for the rest of the pregnancy, but when I received it, I found the fabric wasn't as stretchy as most maxi skirts I own, so I had a hard time hiking 'er over the thighs! I tried again shortly after having Farrah to no avail. But I pulled it out again yesterday to give it a shot, and to my surprise, I was able to slink it on no problem! Yay for postpartum weightloss progress!

It's no secret I love tie-dye, so when I came across this at Tilly's online, I knew I had to have it. And at under $40 at the time, it was a no-brainer. The colors are my favorite too. I think tie-dye is like camo or leopard...it will never really go out of style as long as it's done right.

Check out this picture I got my 4-year-old to take...not too bad!

It can also be worn as a full-length maxi dress:

Monday Musings: Back To School

Praise the Lord, it's back to school time! {I know some other mommas are with me on that!} Don't get me wrong, I'll miss Tanner, but it is so good for him {and the rest of us} to be on a schedule. He will also be learning, maturing and making new friends.

I am also glad because today is the official start of me getting to be back on a regular gym schedule! Farrah is old enough for the gym daycare now, and it is across the street from Tanner's school, so Breckin, Farrah and I will be heading there every morning after dropping him off. It will be nice to have a shred of "me time" on a regular basis. It's been a while. I also know that regular working out again is what is going to get me back down to pre-pregnancy size...so I'm looking forward to making progress there.

This past weekend was great and full of beautiful weather. We had Breckin's superhero birthday party yesterday at the pool and couldn't have asked for a nicer day. He was just so excited.

We even managed to get a lot done around the house. Jake put the finishing touches on the closet - a mirror, a light fixture and glass doors for my jewelry case. I am in love with the space and sometimes just want to sit in there. Updated pics on that for you later.

Well, that's about it for this Monday. If it's back to school for your kids this week too - good luck and hope they all have a great week!
