20 Questions Tuesday

I stole this from Natalie's blog :-)

What is your road trip essential snack?
Trail mix or oddly enough, something I never eat unless I'm on a road trip - Slim Jim.

You've been handed two free round-trip tickets...who are you taking and where are you going?
Take the hubs and I to backpack in Europe for a few weeks. There are so many places there I want to see before I die.

What was your high school jam?
Music questions are soooo hard because I love so many and from many different genres. I loved Blink-182, anything Britney, Say My Name by Destiny's Child...and I will definitely say my taste has gotten better since I got older.

Would you rather have a perfect bum, or a flawless face?
Flawless face...it's the first thing people see. I gotta work on my ass as it is anyway, so what difference would it make?

What shows are you ashamed to admit are on your DVR?
I don't have DVR..antenna and Netflix only.

What's your ringtone?
It's the normal iPhone ring. I used to be cool, but now I'm boring.

How old were you when you had your first kiss? Was it meh or toe-curling?
First Frencher, probably 8th grade...and it was meh. And anyone that says their first was t0e-curling...I gotta know how that even happens.

Do you have any siblings, and if so, where are you in the birth order?
I have two brothers. My older one is turning 34 in November, I'm 32 and my younger brother just turned 30.

What physical quirk were you born with?
It's not super quirky, but I have a birth mark splotch on my right abdomen. I hardly notice it now because it's just always been there. Now that I think about it, I wonder if people see it and think it's weird? Eh, whatever. I also have one thumb that is a lot smaller than the other...kind of like Megan Fox.

Can you see the birth splotch? ;-)
What was your first car, and did you name it?
It was Rhonda the Honda...a gold 1988 Honda Accord. Leopard covers on the seats and steering wheel and matching fuzzy dice in the mirror. Yeah, I was that girl.

What would you request for your last supper?
Fish tacos!

Have you ever been hospitalized, and if so, what for?
Only for childbirth.

How tall are you? Do you wish you were taller, shorter...or are you just right?
I might wish for an extra inch (I'm 5'7") and that way my weight would be better distributed ;-)

Do you prefer to DIY or hire it out?
Depends what it is. I really love to DIY these days...I prefer my husband to do the carpentry stuff just because naturally he's better/faster at it, but I did love shop class in junior high. If it's painting a large area of the house, I'd be more quick to hire someone to do it, though it usually ends up being Jake or me anyway.

What do you eat for breakfast?
Lately, it's 1/2 cup low-fat cottage cheese and 1/3 cup blueberries.

What would you do for a living if you didn't need money?
I'd paint and sell my work...it would be nice to not have to worry about needing to sell everything. I'd also be a personal trainer.

Finish this sentence: Every room needs....
Something that is special to you...and heirloom from your family, a token from your past, or something that has a lot of meaning to who you are as an individual.

How frequently do you wash your hair? Do you have any hair secrets or tricks?
I wish I could say like once or twice a week. I tried that before and couldn't quite stick with it long enough for it to not be greasy anymore. I'll have to try again sometime. Now I'm back to pretty much every day. But I use a non-sulfate shampoo and conditioner. And I pretty much always wear my hair straight...need to work on finding the time to add a little curl.

Will you leave the house without makeup?
Nope.

You just unloaded your Halloween haul...what candy do you go for first?
Runts, Smarties, Skittles, Sweet Tarts and Reese's PB Cups {OK, I love all of it, except Tootsie Rolls...ew.}

ABC's of Me

I love a good about me post/questionnaire, so I hope you do too. 'Cuz if you stick around, that's what you're getting.

The ABC’s of me:
A- Available: For what, exactly? Dating, marriage? No. Help moving? No. Cocktails with some fun girlfriends tonight? Abso-fucking-lutely. To give unsolicited advice? Always. For work? Not likely, but run it by me anyway.

B- Biggest Fear: Losing my children. I just don't know what I would do or how I could go on. Stories of children lost tragically just pierce my heart.

C- Crushing On: This top.

D- Drink You Had Last: Diet Rockstar

E- Easiest Person To Talk To: Anyone that will fucking listen. Which unfortunately is hard to come by these days. But my current faves are Mom, Jake and Suz. And He's not a person, per se, but God is always pretty easy to talk to.

F- Favorite Song: Lately I've been loving "Here's To Us" by Halestorm. It's going to be my new karaoke jam because we are similar tonally and I also love to use the f-word...a lot. "I Miss The Misery" by them is also fun. What can I say, I have a thing for singing angry bitch songs.

G- Grossest Memory: I most certainly cannot share that here.

H- Hometown: OK, so I've always fought with the definition of "hometown". Where you were forced to grow up due to your parents' life choices is out of your hands. If you never feel connected to where you grew up, you may not really consider it "home". I left the state nearly the second I turned 18 (ok, of course I had to finish high school first). I went straight where I knew my heart belonged and where I just "fit" - California. I chose it as my first home as an adult. It's where I lived and learned on my own and really was able to discover myself and what I love. Huntington Beach, CA will always be my "hometown".

I- In Love With: My Young Living Essential Oils - they are amazing. I got introduced to them in January and the things they can do health and beauty wise are endless! Seriously, if you want more info, let me know. I'd love to share my testimonial with you.

J- Jealous Of: I'm learning to be happy with myself and what I have as I get older. If I don't like something the way it is, I do what I can personally to change/improve it...I try not to use others' lives and material things as a check list. Life is too short to covet what others have or are...it is a journey and a process for all of us to become who we were meant to or want to be and only we can make or break that.

K- Killed Someone: Uummmmmm....mmm-kay....do we really not have anything else for "K"?

L- Longest Relationship: My current one. Married 7 1/2 years; together {off an on} for 10 1/2.

M- Middle Name: Jennifer - so 1983. ;-)

N- Number Of Siblings: 2 brothers. This is a very old picture from like 2007 when I visited for Christmas that year. I'll need an updated one when we visit in August.

O- One Wish: To always be happy in life and with myself. No matter what the circumstances may be.

P- Person Who You Called Last: Jake

Q- Question You’re Always Asked: I think the most common I get is "Do people ever tell you that you look like Megan Fox?" Seriously love hearing that, but I personally believe she is a level of gorgeous I have definitely not attained. But thank you anyway! However, I always like to add to the conversation that I too have a weird thumb like she does and my maiden name is Morgan Cox. That usually freaks them out.

R- Reason To Smile: Family, friends, good health, good job, wine, SNL, Ellen DeGeneres.

S- Song You Last Sang: “Zombie" by The Cranberries. Seriously, my car is an endless concert of angry bitch music.

T- Time You Woke Up: 4:00am. Gotta get that Body Beast workout in before my day gets away from me.

U- Unsure Of?: Fate

V- Violent Moment You Had: What the hell?

W- Worst Habit: Zoning out during conversation

X- Number Of X-Rays You’ve Had: Oh, like a million.

Z- Zodiac Sign: Aries

32 Things: Happy Birthday To Me

http://sd.keepcalm-o-matic.co.uk/i/happy-birthday-to-me-im-23.png

And apparently in my old age I'm having some moments of dyslexia. ;-) I certainly wish the above were true. OK, OK, it is. I'm 23 years old.......with 9 years experience.

So 32...I'm not quite sure how I feel about that number. I know it's not OLD, OK? But seriously, I'm having my 2nd Sweet Sixteen here. I remember how long it felt to get to 16...and now I've accomplished that feat...twice.

http://sd.keepcalm-o-matic.co.uk/i/keep-calm-it-s-my-2nd-sweet-sixteen.png

You like that?

Haha, anyway, I thought I'd do a fun little "About Me" birthday post...I'll list 32 gloriously random and thought-provoking things about me in honor of my 32nd. You're excited, aren't you? OK, I'll totally understand if you just "x" off this page right now....

See my 30 for my 30th here.

Still with me? Gee, you're swell.

Here goes...

1} I drink a Diet Rockstar every day. I always say I'm going to quit...and I still want to...but this might require an episode of Intervention and a stint at rehab.

2} I get my hair trimmed once, maybe twice a year. I hate losing inches when I'm trying to grow it long.

3} I love accessories, but I rarely actually wear them. 99% of the time, you will just find a wedding ring on me.

4} Over the last few years, I've been really bold with my home decor. I always stuck to neutrals in the past because I knew it looked good, but once I started brightening things up with colors I truly loved, even though they were risky, I became much happier in my own home. Some of my favorites are my living room, Tanner & Breckin's room and Farrah's nursery. I'm currently working on brightening up our master bedroom and getting rid of the "safe" blue and brown we've had for 7 years!

5} I can't wait to be a "dance mom". I really hope Farrah has a love for dancing like I do.

6} I'm currently studying to be a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. I want to focus on teaching barre.

7} The only time I've ever been out of the country is for my honeymoon in St. Maarten. I'd really love to travel more once my kids are older. And we have money.

8} My favorite colors are pink and teal. I also really love them together.

9} I have a really weird ability that I don't even try to have. I can remember dates and phone numbers like Rain Man. Just numbers in general. Even if it's someone I met once and I happened to learn their birthday at that time...if prompted, like, five years later about that person, I could tell you their birthday. Phone number too. I also just can rattle off dates of random events or occurrences like they were yesterday. If I knew your phone number when we were in elementary school, I could be asked now and be able to tell you what it was. I can address all 50+ of my Christmas cards without having to look at my address book.

10} While I was in college, I took on a full-time gig managing a Blockbuster Video...while also picking up a few hours working front desk at a tanning salon each week. I can never seem to just do one thing...I still managed to graduate college with a 3.9 GPA.

11} Lately, I want to spray paint everything - furniture- and decor-wise.

12} I'm not a coffee person.

13} My closet is organized by order of the rainbow. Purses too.

14} My favorite flower is the hibiscus.

http://www.hiddenvalleyhibiscus.com/images/heavymetalsm.jpg

15} My car was stolen the same day I had bought a new truck. My insurance company was suspicious. But it was legit. True story.

16} I have an obsession with my weight and I always have. I have gotten "healthier" about it as far as how I work to achieve the weight/size I want, but I have taken some drastic measures in the past and have tried just about every fad diet out there...anything to lose an extra 10 lbs. My postpartum weight loss attempts always take an emotional toll on me. Mainly though, I exercise and eat right because I just want to be really fit and I know the correct way to go about it now.

17} I love to do karaoke. I think it's because I really wish I was a singer.

18} I'm not a fan of mushy love stuff. It makes me uncomfortable. My poor husband likes to be mushy. I constantly tell him that I am the guy and he is the girl in our relationship. I guess it works.

19} The older I get, the more I seem to procrastinate. I'm working to reverse that trend.

20} I think I have the ability to be the do-it-all mom...you know, the Room Mom that also works full time that also finds time to workout six days a week that also has everything the kids need for school/daycare prepped and ready everyday that has a super-organized house, etc. etc. etc...??? And some days/weeks/months I do...but a lot of the time I just say f*** it...they'll be fine.

21} I didn't really get into drinking wine until after I had kids. And now I drink it a lot. A LOT. I started out a white girl, but now I'm a red girl. {Not to be taken literally because I am, in fact, still Caucasian.}

22} I don't believe in horoscopes, but I do believe in sign-associated personalities. I am most definitely an Aries.

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/fd/6b/12/fd6b125b0343d1c6bb18ccb75e176e2f.jpg

23} I don't really love to read, but I do love to write.

24} I'm a middle child. And yes, I do have Middle Child Syndrome...ironically, thanks to my married name, my initials are now MCS.

http://cdn.someecards.com/someecards/usercards/MjAxNC0yM2M1ZWQwNjJmZGEwOTNi.png

25} I hate when friends move away. In the last couple of years, I've lost five very close friends to moving. I miss you Corey, Taylor, Amanda, Meg & Jackie!

26} I always have to have a planner. And colorful pens to boot.

https://igcdn-photos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/t51.2885-15/10354562_837505242972837_472007728_n.jpg

27} I didn't really start eating seafood until I moved to Southern California. Now my favorite meal is fish tacos...and I eat seafood all the time.

28} The biggest test of my patience in my life has definitely been my son, Tanner. He is a wonderfully, brilliant little boy, but he is borderline Asperger's so he doesn't socialize or have logic in the way that one normally would. He is a beautiful person inside and out and I constantly strive to relate to him better and be more understanding and patient with him. It is a battle, some days/moments I fail, others I succeed. I want nothing more than for him to be confident, self-assured and happy in life.

29} My favorite TV show of all time is Friends. I could watch it over and over...I am currently running it on my Netflix as my backup when nothing else is on, or just to have in the background when I'm cleaning or something. It never gets old. My favorite "friend" is Rachel...then Chandler...then Monica.

30} I may have a great opportunity at Boeing right now, but my heart is really calling me back to being a SAHM and to work on a career in the fitness industry. Passion trumps sensibility.

31} When I decide I like something, I have a tendency to go overboard...case in point: Farrah's giraffes.

And there are much more now...

32} I've recently jumped on the essential oils bandwagon and I love it! I look up recipes for everything.

Now, I'm going to go ahead and let the rest of my day go as this following article tells me it will:
