Thoughts on Thursday & Happy Birthday, Tanner

First and foremost, today is my oldest son's 9th birthday. That's right, our last year of the single digits...then I believe Tanner will technically be a "tween-ager" or something like that.{Really looking forward to that by the way!}

It's crazy how different Jake and I looked 9 years ago! Of course, I can't say I was at my best - I had just had a baby! But there is my sweet Tanner...so perfect and tiny...my life changed for the better that day, in so many ways I never knew it would. Being a mother has brought so much joy, new meaning and countless blessings to my life.

Happy Birthday, my sweet, handsome Tanner. I love you more than words could ever express, and I hope you know that in your heart forever. You make me proud to be your mother and I am so lucky you were brought into my life.

Now as for the rest of my Thoughts on Thursday...

I did my first 5K since before having Farrah on Saturday with my friend, Anne and her roommates. We had a great time...it was the coldest it had yet been this season at around 40 degrees and a bit rainy too, so we were running in the mud, and also, in the dark. But I am glad we did it.

She and I have already made plans to do the Reindeer Run together this year. It feels good to be back in the swing of things with getting some local races on the schedule. It's something I really love to do. Becoming a better runner is a goal of mine...along with that elusive half marathon I really need to check off my bucket list. I have been running in the mornings before Tanner goes to school and oh man, it has been cold...but the sunrises are a nice treat. I typically just do 2.5-3 miles right now....trying to just run 30 min and see what I can do in that time.

Farrah has been really wanting to sit up on her own...she does it a little, but not so well that I can walk away for a few seconds. But whenever I put her in something that leans back, she is always leaning forward to sit up.

I never really did share my pictures from Halloween here - so here are a few:

We had a great time trick-or-treating with the kids and then going to a neighborhood party.

Anyway, that's about it for today. Hope you caught Tuesday's and Wednesday's outfit posts! Having so much fun doing them!

Friday Five & Happy Halloween

I'm late to the blogging game today. I had to run out this morning to find green face paint for my little Incredible Hulk since he doesn't want to wear the mask {it doesn't fit right}. Luckily, I found some at the Halloween store.

Anywho...it is actually Halloween. October is pretty much officially over. Now I feel like Christmas will be here tomorrow. Between Tanner's birthday next week, his campout birthday party the following week, my wedding anniversary, our trip to Myrtle Beach Thanksgiving week and all the Christmas festivities to come, I'm already feeling drained and I haven't even started! We'll be ringing in 2015 before you know it. Where does the time go?

Well, here are my 5 things...

{one}

I've been a good girl...I've been pretty much eating like this all week...and I can proudly say I've finally gotten down in the 150s {I was 145 pre-prego, and am nearly 5'8"}! I seriously was lingering back and forth between the same 1-2 lbs and it was driving me crazy. I tell you, it's true what they say, it is 80% diet! Cutting out wine for the week also made a huge difference {though I miss it with every ounce of my being}...I may have some tonight, it is Halloween after all.

Looking forward to the Color Rave Glow Run tomorrow night! I stocked up on glow bracelets and necklaces at the dollar store and will be wearing the rainbow arm and leg warmers from my Rainbow Brite costume. Our running team is called Taste the Rainbow, so it's perfect. My first 5K post 3rd baby! I'm excited, it's going to be fun and of course the after party will be great too.

I got Farrah a door jumper and oh. my. God. she is too stinkin' cute in it.

Them thighs tho...hahahaha

{four}

Speaking of baby girl, I'm loving Gymboree's collection for the holidays! Right now you can get 40% off of everything! Here are my favorites for Farrah:

Everyone have a safe and happy Halloween! Here's some ecards I thought were good.

Monday Musings

What a busy, but fun weekend! We got a lot of family Halloween festivities done.

On Friday, Tanner had no school, so we went out to the Mt. Pleasant Waterfront Park and Pier to meet my friend Suz and her kids to play. After the play park there, we all took a stroll down the pier. Suz was able to get my new favorite photo of the boys and me {thank you ,Suz!}

This of course is my fabulous friend, Suz...

On Friday night, Suz and I went out with a couple of other girlfriends to The Granary here in Mt. Pleasant. It was my first time and oh. my. God. it was sooooo good. We all split the charcuterie and cheese plates and my entree was grilled swordfish over some yummy veggies. I am definitely taking my husband there for date night; he'd definitely enjoy it. We then went to an English pub called My Father's Moustache and basically closed down the place just chatting away. It was nice to get out, but I was feeling it the next day - more so for lack of sleep, not the alcohol.

On Saturday, I took Tanner and Breckin to the Towne Centre for their Trick-or-Treat...most of the stores hand out candy to the kids and there was a jump castle. It was really nice weather for it, maybe even a little on the hot side! Is it really the end of October? 80s seems high!

I was able to take a run that evening and got to catch this beautiful sunset...

So serene...glad it is right near my house.

On Sunday, we went to church, out to lunch and even made a family trip to Walmart for some essentials. I went to the grocery store that afternoon {starting up the meal prepping again} and we had our little family pumpkin carving party that evening...the boys really enjoyed it.

And of course Farrah was hanging out with us the whole time...

She has even recently begun working on sitting up on her own!

I hope y'all had a great weekend...oh, and that thing I kept saying I was going to find the time to do? I finally did it...
