Thoughts For Thursday: "Check" Me Out

So, before you attain success in the lifestyle/fashion blogging world, you sometimes have to improvise. Especially when it comes to outfit posts. And I don't mean just improvising the outfit...improvising with who gets to be your photographer. Many blogging ladies are lucky enough to have their husbands help them with the task...whether begrudgingly or willingly...and they are double-lucky if he also happens to have some photography skills.

Well, my man is hard at work many hours of the day right now, so I used my next-in-line...my 8-year-old son Tanner. He used my iPhone, until I can begin to trust him and show him how to use/handle my DSLR, this is going to have to suffice. But I don't think he did too badly! If anything, I blame the "model".

But anyway, y'all know I wanted to start doing more outfit posts on here. I will say I feel this one in particular is a little novice...I mean, I was in such a hurry to get him to photograph me {Farrah was napping}, that I didn't really accessorize...and my nails aren't painted...things of note for next time. But the outfit IS comfortable and is totally a go-to style for fall.

Hope you enjoy...{and please disregard our backyard...ick.}

You may have also noticed I redesigned my blog. It's not quite complete, but the main parts are. I hope you like the change. I am planning on migrating to Wordpress in the near future, but taking my time on that to be sure it's done as smoothly as possible!

Thursday Thoughts: Target Gets Me Every Time

I love me some Target. I have put myself in the danger zone by using their Up & Up baby formula because every time I need to get a new package of it...well, I spend money on other things too.

I have to say...I love their latest collection of Merona purses - called the Timeless Collection. So many bright colors, and a few good ones for fall too. I did manage to restrain myself from purchasing {for today} knowing that I need to purge some of my old ones before getting any new. But seriously, for the price, these are so great.

I know those are small pictures, but head to the link below the picture ASAP to see more.

I didn't manage to make it out of the boot section without a purchase...but in my defense, I needed some black boots for this season and these were called Morgan...so, it was like totally meant to be. Literally, calling my name.

And of course, I always hit the clearance racks for Farrah...they are getting rid of their summer stuff, so I like to buy for the next year up. I am seriously in a bad habit of buying her things every time I go somewhere.

Seriously, it's true what they say about girls...you WILL go broke.

And while it was on my list, I got some more Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair {love this stuff} and they happened to be on a BOGO 1/2 off sale, so I went ahead and got the day stuff as well. I'm really trying to take my skincare seriously now that I'm in my 30s. I did care for it before, but now I'm extra serious.

So, how has Target eaten into your wallet lately?

Five on Friday

Happy Friday, y'all!!!

I tell ya, I am READY for a weekend. Work has been cray-zay and I'm just ready to relax and have a good time.

Here are my Friday Five:

1. Breckin's 3rd birthday party is tomorrow. I am so excited. We are having it at the pool, so no last-minute crazy cleaning for this girl. I have spent the last few weeks piecing bits of decor together. Our theme is construction/handyman...Breckin LOVES tools. I can't wait to share pics of the special event! I can't believe on 8/8, this little guy will actually be a three-year-old. Can I even call him my baby anymore? {I think so.}

Ugh...melt my heart. ♥

2. I'm officially starting a clean eating diet on Monday. I've actually sort of already started, but I am going to be cutting out alcohol for a while and trying to carve out my abs a little bit more...I mean, my friend Tiffany posted this as her new Facebook profile pic and I was like...OK...officially motivated:

Um..yeeeeahh...she's a mother of two {the latest of whom is under age two}. And she used to party and be on the social scene quite a bit back in the day. She has for sure turned it all around. Tiffany, if you're reading: Kudos to you, girl.

What's that? Your ass is motivated now too? Yeah, thought so.

I'll be sure to share my meal plan with y'all on the blog here soon. And of course start some progress posting. But most of that will be over at my sister blog, The Gym Bunny. {Go follow that shit, now.}

3. I need some new boots for fall. I'm thinking some nice black ones...the only black ones I have that I like are sort of UGG-ish, so I want some sleek black ones that are a bit more on the classy/sleek side. I like these from Target:

4. In keeping on task with my clean eating...I'm introducing one of the latest goods to hit the market at Trader Joes - Quinoa & Steel Cut Oatmeal:

Quinoa is a great source of protein. I typically would work it into lunch and dinner, but this breakfast option is an awesome way to start a day of clean eating.

And lastly...

5. What do I get my soon-to-be-three-year-old for his birthday when he already has all the hand-me-down toys from Big Bro? Any ideas? Please share!

Minnetonka Moccasins in Action

So I received my Minnetonka Moccasins on my doorstep the other day...you know, the ones I posted about the other day when I saw adorable Emily Maynard in them. And well, the verdict:

I just absolutely love them!

They are soooo comfortable and they look so well-made. I enjoyed wearing them to work the day after I received them...my feet remained comfortable...and I walk on a cement factory floor all day!

I have been looking for ideas on fun ways to style them...I will show you some pics of myself in them in just a moment. But here are some inspiring pics - apparently many in the celeb crowd are Minnetonka fans as well!

Here's a personal fashionista fave of mine - Lauren Conrad:

I personally love pairing mine with leggings. I do also love them with some dark blue skinny jeans. And I'm excited for summer because I think I will pull a Miley and rock them with some jean shorts...gotta love all year round boots! Here is how I styled them the first day I wore them {forgive my messy closet}...but I know there are so many other options!

Wanted Wednesday

OK, so now that we are officially off of Christmas break, into the new year, back to work, kids back to school...it's time to get down to business. And by business I mean compiling a new list of items that have struck my fancy as of late {what other business is there, really?} Here you go...

Emily Maynard posted this pic on Instagram and I insta-fell-in-love:

So naturally, I Googled these super-cute boots:

via

They are the Minnetonka Moccassin 3-Layer Fringe boot and currently en route to mi casa via FedEx. At $90.00 they were too good to resist. And I know you are wondering just like I did, where she got that adorable sweater...well, my fine friends, I have done the homework for you. It's available at www.spool72.com. I was having trouble loading their webpage, but maybe you'll have some luck.

And in continuing with my boot fetish, I was perusing the blogs on my Google Reader when I saw this pic in Megan's post today and well, OK, I fell in love again {I fall easy}:

How sweet are those boots? I definitely love how she styled them. I found them for sale here. {You're welcome.} I didn't purchase these ones {yet}, as I don't like my hubby to go into shock by seeing so many packages arrive at the doorstep at the same time. But I'm thinking next paycheck...tee hee. We'll see.

Get Cozy...

It's not even cold outside yet here in Charleston, SC, but nonetheless, I've had cozy fashion on the brain...

You know...scarves, boots, cardigans, sweaters...

Give it another month and I'll be striving to put together fabulously cozy little outfits such as these...

{I always adore LC's style...I don't think she's gotten it wrong yet...}

And then set me up with one of these babies...

And plop me right down in front of something like this with some good company...

Oh, I'm all warm and fuzzy now just thinking about it! xoxo
