Chic Crochet

This is a summer look that I think is cute, but easily thrown together. You look like you didn't try to hard - because you didn't! I love that it's relaxed and comfortable, but chic. I'd go to a beach bonfire or Coachella like this if I still lived in SoCal. I got this top from Buckle last month and I absolutely adore it. I can wear it so many ways with so many things.

Here, it is simply paired with a black tank top and jean shorts...I think the Minnetonka moccasin boots make it even more Boho.

Thursday Thoughts

I know I've posted a bit this week about shopping...but I actually think it's time I gave myself a little shopping freeze {those Christmas season months can really get you to open your wallet more than you're used to!} I'll share with you my latest and greatest purchases {and some I'm just coveting}...but after these, well, I'm just going to have to work with what I have and make outfits that way...after all, that is the goal, right? I feel like I've been building my wardrobe a bit lately and I'm good to go for a while.

Had to jump on this deal at Forever21 - It was a BOGO! They are running a sale now for 30% off on it and it had already been marked down to $49.99. I had been looking for a cute leopard coat, and for the price, this one is way cute. What I actually did was order one in M and one in L to see which one fits better...I'll decide what to do with the extra eventually.

I pinned a few leopard coat outfits I'd like to use as inspiration and recreate the looks to my own taste.

I haven't actually jumped the gun on this purchase, but I think it's soooo pretty and perfect for summer parties. And y'all must know by now I'm a sucker for pretty multi-colored stuff.

At $19.99? OK, I'm literally sitting here right now thinking that I simply must go ahead with it right after I finish this blog post. THEN, the spending freeze will commence. Promise.

I debuted these Minnetonka Moccassin boots in my outfit post last week...I am so glad I got them. I bought them used {literally next to new}for a fraction of the MSRP on our local Facebook mommy exchange. Do you have one of those shop and swap sites on Facebook locally? You should find out if you do...I've gotten a lot for the kids and my home for great deals!

I'm actually more excited to wear them with shorts in the spring/summer. Again, I look to Pinterest for some good outfit inspiration.

Five on Friday

It's felt like a short week...and it sort of has been thanks to Labor Day weekend! So now it's time for:

{one}
Hear who is going to play Christian Grey in the upcoming film adaptation of every woman's sinful novel guilty pleasure - 50 Shades of Grey? Oh yes, none other than...

Charlie Hunnam...AKA Jax from Sons of Anarchy. Oh man, he is HOT. Definitely looking forward to this movie now {as if I wasn't regardless!} I'm not so sure about Dakota Johnson, but she does play an awkward, pretty in her own weird way girl pretty well on Ben & Kate, so it fits the bill, I think. Looks like I need to get to finishing the trilogy...I left off last year in the second book somewhere.

{two}
Did you know Grandparent's Day is this Sunday? I was a good daughter and daughter-in-law and had my boys make these for each set of grandparents:

Easy-peasy and maybe a little cheesy, but that's what grandparents love, right?

{three}
My Emily-Maynard-inspired Aztec sweater arrived and it's oh-so adorable. I really love the colors. Here's my remaking of her outfit:

I know, I know, we may as well be twins, right? Ha, yeeeeeah. She's gorgeous...I'll claim her style, not her looks! I can't wait to rock this outfit once the weather cools a bit!

{four}
Did you check out my new command center/bar area I posted about this week?

{five}
These boys are excited to share something with you soon...

Don't they just look so cool? Haha...

Have a great weekend, everyone!

I'm an Emily Maynard Copycat...

... and I'm not ashamed.

Girl has great style, so why be ashamed? Earlier this year, I posted this picture of her because I was absolutely IN LOVE with the outfit:

It inspired me to get my Minnetonka moccassin boots! {I have never regretted that purchase, btw.} However, I could not find that sweater...I even asked her personally on her Facebook page where she got it and she told me www.spool72.com. But unfortunately, they were no longer available. So I eventually forgot about it.

Well, now that fall is quickly coming upon us, it got me thinking about this particular get-up again {because, how cute is this for fall?} and I started doing a Google search for "Aztec sweater", hoping I could at least find something similar. And well, I got better than similar.

Yep, I got the exact one. It's headed my way in 4-7 business days. If you purchase this beauty, use this code to get free shipping: SHIPTHIS. I had to do extra search to find a promo code {always looking to save where I can} so you're welcome.

Can't wait to wear my Emily-Maynard-inspired outfit around the firepit this season. Sooooo comfy!

Do you have any particular looks you can't wait to wear this fall? It's seriously my favorite season for fashion. See my Pinterest board for many of the fall outfits I've been pinning lately!

The Wonder That Is Social Media

What's pretty cool about social media sometimes is that it can seemingly link you closer to celebrities you love. {Hopefully not in a stalker-status sort of way.}

I was just perusing through my notifications on Instagram this morning when I noticed this:

See that little arrow I made? It's pointing out the fact that Todd Leduc (@toddleduc) liked my photo on Instagram that mentioned him.

Here's a closeup of the description I had posted with the photo:

He simply must have run a search on anything with the hashtag #toddleduc, but STILL! Kinda cool. And notice, his sponsor is Rockstar. He was meant to discover me eventually.

This isn't the first time this has happened. When I raved about my Minnetonka Moccasins, it wasn't long before the company followed me on Twitter and re-tweeted me. Remember these tweets I mentioned in the past?

Anyway, I just thought I would share. What are the coolest interactions you've had on social media?

Oh, FYI, you may not have known this, but I LOOOOOOOOOVE monster trucks and offroad racing. And now my little guy does too. ♥

St. Patty's Outfit {The Deets}

So yesterday in my Monday Musings post, I posted a quick, but not too quality pic of my outfit from St. Patty's Day. I actually got a few compliments on the get-up while out and about that day, so I thought I would share with all of you just what it's made of.

Dress: TJ Maxx / Boots: Minnetonka Moccassins / Necklace: Bohme Boutique /
 Earrings: Target

Some of you may remember this outfit from the Rascal Flatts/The Band Perry concert I went to on Valentine's Day when I got to meet The Band Perry backstage! This dress was such a great find at TJ Maxx for $12.99 - and now I have some much-needed green in my closet {I am seriously lacking in that department!} And plus, it is fitting with Pantone's 2013 Color of the Year: Emerald.

These earrings were a steal at Target for $7.99. I checked and they are not available online, so I suggest you run to your nearest store and raid their jewelry section...they had tons of great stuff.

The necklace is from Bohme Boutique. I got this when I visited Idaho last summer. They do not have these boutiques on the East Coast...I think so far they are only in California and the Northwestern states. So if you live over there, lucky you! They had a great selection of jewelry.

And I tell you, I have not gotten tired of my Minnetonka Moccassins and I don't think I ever will. LOVE.

Hope y'all had a great St. Patty's Day! xoxo

Friday Five

Happy Friday, Darlings. Five things I love this week:

One.

Found out @MinnetonkaMocc started following me on Twitter last month {can't believe I just now noticed!} and they've retweeted me not once, but TWICE! At the risk of sounding like a total dork, I have to say it gave me the warm fuzzies.

They retweeted this post and this post. {Pssst...if you're a Twitter user, my handle is @morgalicious483. Would love the follow. Let me know yours!}

Two.

Thanks to Ashley at Turquoise & Teale, I discovered this game available at Amazon:

How fun is that? I am soooo getting this game...my fellow Charlestonian friends will love it!

Three.

Tried on this sweater at Target and had to buy...I had been looking for a long layering sweater to wear with leggings. It's shorter in the front than the back and a very light, breathable, weaved fabric. Super comfy.

Xhilaration® Juniors High Low Marl Sweater - Assorted Colors
$22.99 at Target

Four.

Picked up this nail color at my local CVS Pharmacy, It's called Plastic Flamingo by Spoiled {Wet n' Wild}. It's the perfect bright pink for spring and summer...pretty much flourescent! And it's only $1.99. Don't get me wrong, I love the array of colors that Essie makes, but I truly cringe at the thought of spending $8.00 or so on one color of polish.

Five.

Getting back into Bikram Yoga classes so I can pull off stuff like this again...I had been letting my flexibility slip away and I just simply can't keep letting that happen!

Have a great weekend. Weather is supposed to be 70 and not rainy on Sunday, so I can hopefully get the boys out to the beach! xoxo
