Round 2: Place Your Bets {Pantone Color of the Year 2015}

Last year, I decided to have a little guessing game fun and tried predicting what would be Pantone's Color of the Year for 2014. You can check out that post here. I was floored when they announced the color a few months later was going to be Radiant Orchid, and I discovered I was right.

So of course, I want to keep the tradition going and guess again this year to see if I have a knack for this sort of thing. Hey, maybe Pantone can just hire me to decide the colors from now on if I prove to be that good at predicting.

My prediction for 2015 is going to be along the lines of the royal blue or cerulean family.

I'm a fan of blues in general...and I think that cobalt and navy have been popular enough that this color should definitely get its own year by now, don't you agree?

Love Bougainvillea! Wish it grew in our cold climate. Wow Colors with grey stone.

Doesn't that cerulean door look fabulous with those Radiant Orchid-colored flowers?

I think this shade of blue would be a great choice for Pantone being that it looks great in home decor as well as in fashion.

And it pretty much works for all seasons, not like say, burgundy, which is traditionally more of a fall/winter trend.

And let's be honest, it's one of the most versatile colors, being that it can be paired easily with a wide range of colors - such as pink, coral, emerald, yellow, orange, etc.

So we will see in a few months if I'm right again! What is your bet for the Pantone Color of the Year 2015? Do you agree with me?

Five on Friday

Oh yeah, you know what that post title means...TGIF!

This was a great week, I made it back into the gym after a short holiday season hiatus. I really wish I had never left, but I am going to do my best to make the remainder of my pregnancy as fit as possible! I've already noticed a boost in energy and less aches and pains {other than the kind you should have after a good workout}. This is the workout schedule I plan to stick to for the rest of this pregnancy {originally posted on my fitness blog, The Gym Bunny}:

 And here I am working the leg press the other day {see that belly?}:

{two}
I'm loving wearing my leopard flats with like, everything right now. I got these in NYC last month at ALDO Shoes.

{three}
Tried out a shade of Pantone's Color of the Year on my nails this week. This is a little less pink-toned though, but still pretty:

I think I'm going to start some paintings for the nursery this weekend. Since I am using the same color scheme as our living room, I am thinking I want to do something similar to the paintings I did for that room:

I've been on the hunt for some good book recommendations to download on the Kindle. I plan on keeping it at my nursing table so I can do some reading while feeding {lol}. I think it will help pass the time, and when else am I going to find the time to read as a mother of three? So far, I've heard great things about these two and plan on downloading ASAP. Do you have any recommendations?

A Big, Fat "I Told You So" {Pantone Color Of The Year 2014}

Thanks to a nice "You nailed it!" comment left on my Pantone Color of the Year prediction post this past weekend, I have just found out that I did, in fact, nail it.

Pantone's Color of the Year for 2014 is {drumroll, please}:

If you'll remember, or you can just go back to my entire post, I stated the following:

"My feeling on this next color, is that it's going to be in the lavender/purple family. I'm actually not a huge fan of purple in my decor, nor do I have much of it in my closet, but I feel like it's coming back around."

It's OK, be amazed with me. I must say I do love the shade they've chosen, it's got a hint of pink to it, the kind of purple I like.

What do you think about the Pantone Color of the Year for 2014?

Place Your Bets {Pantone Color of the Year 2014}

I'm going to play a guessing game. This Pantone Color of the Year thing...I think I will be just about spot on with the color for 2014.

A little history of the Pantone Colors of the Year since 2000:

http://sunnyslideup.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Pantone-Color-Of-The-Year-Past-Decade.jpg

Obviously, guessing the exact name of the color would be next to impossible, but I'm going to put it out here right now - so I have the bragging rights of saying "I told you so" and "Girl got ESP, yo". And if not, you can laugh and laugh and I will say those three words I never ever say {at least to my husband}, "I was wrong."

My feeling on this next color, is that it's going to be in the lavender/purple family. I'm actually not a huge fan of purple in my decor, nor do I have much of it in my closet, but I feel like it's coming back around.

If the color is more toward the darker shade end of purple, I see it having a little bit of indigo or gray tone within. Remember Lauren Conrad & Heidi Montag's apartment on The Hills - that beautiful purple-gray wall color against the stark white couch?

*Sorry - only picture I could find of it!

So there you have it, my friends...my prediction for PCOTY2014.

What's yours?

St. Patty's Outfit {The Deets}

So yesterday in my Monday Musings post, I posted a quick, but not too quality pic of my outfit from St. Patty's Day. I actually got a few compliments on the get-up while out and about that day, so I thought I would share with all of you just what it's made of.

Dress: TJ Maxx / Boots: Minnetonka Moccassins / Necklace: Bohme Boutique /
 Earrings: Target

Some of you may remember this outfit from the Rascal Flatts/The Band Perry concert I went to on Valentine's Day when I got to meet The Band Perry backstage! This dress was such a great find at TJ Maxx for $12.99 - and now I have some much-needed green in my closet {I am seriously lacking in that department!} And plus, it is fitting with Pantone's 2013 Color of the Year: Emerald.

These earrings were a steal at Target for $7.99. I checked and they are not available online, so I suggest you run to your nearest store and raid their jewelry section...they had tons of great stuff.

The necklace is from Bohme Boutique. I got this when I visited Idaho last summer. They do not have these boutiques on the East Coast...I think so far they are only in California and the Northwestern states. So if you live over there, lucky you! They had a great selection of jewelry.

And I tell you, I have not gotten tired of my Minnetonka Moccassins and I don't think I ever will. LOVE.

Hope y'all had a great St. Patty's Day! xoxo

Ways To Wear Emerald

With St. Patty's Day just around the corner, and emerald being Pantone's 2013 Color of the Year, I thought it would be great to show some ways to incorporate emerald into your wardrobe. I personally have never been a big fan of greens in my wardrobe, however, I love the tone of emerald if I am ever to start branching out with more green.

If you prefer just a pop of green, go with a scarf on neutrals:

 Maybe try it on your nails:

Or a fun statement necklace:

If you look great in green, or are just looking to brighten up your wardrobe I suggest trying some cute skinny jeans:

Or an emerald shirt or sweater paired with a patterned scarf:

Have fun with it - hoping to see lots of the emerald shade this St. Patty's Day! I know that's what I'll be sportin'! xoxo

Monday Musings

I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend. I'm sure many of you attended holiday parties! I held my annual ladies' gift exchange and it was a jolly old time as always. The gift I ended up getting was a supercute New York and Company zebra handbag...this is a similar one:

I love it...I think animal prints are forever fashion.

In other news, found out what Pantone's Color of the Year is for 2013:

Seems like we're leaning toward jewel tones for Spring. How do you feel about this color? I'm actually not much of a green person...it's probably the least color I own as far as clothing goes. Though, this emerald is quite striking...I may fancy a few things as I start to {inevitably} see it pop up everywhere. What about interiors? Could you see yourself using this tone in your home?

I don't know about you, but I feel like Christmas break should be here already. It's like you get four days off at Thanksgiving and come back to work for three or four weeks and the whole time I'm just in prep for another holiday break from work mode. I have been having a hard time concentrating at work, y'all. Seriously. I've got less than two weeks til my mommy makes her visit and I'm super-excited!

Speaking of Christmas, I've still got a lot of shopping to do...what about you? Happy Monday, y'all!
