Monday Musings

We had another fun-in-the-sun weekend...hope you did too.

Friday, I met some friends out at Party at the Point to see a Jack Johnson cover band {though I don't recall hearing very many Jack Johnson songs}. It was a perfect evening. It had been a pretty rainy week, so it was nice to have blue skies and a beautiful sunset to kick off the weekend. Next time I definitely want to convince my husband to come and let the kids run around - there were so many there! That's what is so nice about these events.

On Saturday, I got some of the usual chores done around the house while Farrah napped. Jake actually FINALLY finished the bathroom - post to come soon. After Farrah woke up, we all went to the pool. Farrah is really loving the water and being able to pull up now is very exciting for her.

On Sunday, we headed straight to the beach after a late breakfast. It didn't start off great because my baby tent broke when I was setting it up {gotta find a new one, stat!} However, I was eventually able to get Farrah to sleep in the stroller. Jake played a few games of volleyball at the Windjammer and the boys had fun running around. It was one of the rare times that I got to go swimming in the ocean with them - usually I'm juggling the baby too, but since she was napping, I was able to get some fun time with them. I know that it means a lot to them.

This morning got started off right with a very early AM Body Beast workout. If the weather is nice today, I plan to get an evening stroller jog in with Farrah before her bedtime.

Hope y'all have a great week!

Monday Musings / Weekending: Memorial Day Weekend

It was a great weekend! The weather was beautiful and I got some great one-on-one time with my baby girl because Jake took the boys on a fishing trip with his dad all weekend. I missed them, but I can't lie, it was a nice break!

Friday night started with my neighborhood wine night...we chit-chatted, danced and as usual, had a great time.

Saturday I got Farrah and myself ready early to beat the crazy tourist beach traffic. It was a great day out, but it was a little windy, so we only hung out on the beach for about an hour and then spent the rest of the time talking to some of my friends at the Windjammer.

We hung out at Isle of Palms for a few hours and then we came home so she could nap and I could get some house cleaning done.

That evening we went to my friend Suz's house to hang out.

On Sunday, I won't lie, I had a lot of chores to do, so we didn't do as much as I thought we would. I wanted to go to the beach again, but the thought of battling the traffic just wasn't worth it. Farrah and I played, did chores and went to Target to stock up on some necessities. She developed an interesting way of sitting in the cart.

On Monday, the boys came back from their trip in the morning. I managed to get some much-needed gardening done quickly {putting some plants in our pots} and we all went to the pool that afternoon.

I just spent the evening prepping some healthy meals for the week - it is time to get back on that bandwagon...it was quite a "cheat" weekend.

Hope y'all had a wonderful long, holiday weekend as well!

Weekending

What a good weekend! It was beautiful and sunny out and I spent a lot of time with my family outdoors. Saturday started off great...woke up earlier than usual {for a weekend} and got to the gym for a good lower body workout and some cardio. When I got home, I did my best to get some cleaning out of the way so I could enjoy the rest of my weekend without stressing about chores.

That afternoon, Jake, the kids and I all went to the pool. My friend Krystle met us there with her boys who are very close in age to my boys...she and I were able to get some sunbathing and chit-chat time while the kids played. Even with SPF, I ended up a bit red in some areas since we were out there so long. But it was nice because it has been a while since I could soak up the sun for a few hours. Farrah was so cute in the pool...she was crawling all around the shallow water.

And then she was a sunbathing beauty with me for a little while...{SPF 70 on her!}

She is turning ONE on Saturday...OMG...I don't want to think about it. But I have a big rainbow-themed bash planned out and I am so excited to see it come together. #dork

On Sunday, we drove to the zoo to meet our friends Tim, Corey and their son, Levi. They moved to Greenville, SC a year ago and I hadn't seen her since! It had been waaaaaay too long...and I am now just realizing I didn't even get a picture of the two of us together #friendfail - how did that happen? I guess when you're trying to manage three kids and she is trying to manage one...it just slips the mind. I will hopefully see her again on Thursday for a Rodan & Fields party she is hosting in town. I will not forget the picture then! {Corey, I hope you're reading this!} Here are the pictures I did get:

And some of the best animals were actually in great view this time {it can be either hit or miss for the lions and tigers, but they were the closest and most active I'd seen them in all the times we've been!}

When we got home...I was so exhausted from all the sun-soaking and constant activity. I had to get to the grocery store to get a few things and order Farrah's birthday cupcakes...so I did that...then after the kids went to bed, Jake and I settled in and started watching Season 7 of Sons of Anarchy on Netflix...we always have to wait for the seasons to come out. I know how the series ends, but it will be good to finally see all the action in between. It's one of our favorite shows and I am so sad it's over.

This morning I started the week off right by getting up at 4am and doing my Body Beast workout. I am finally on a roll with getting up that early. I also have plans to get to the gym tonight - possibly for barre or some cardio. Kicking it up a notch for bikini season.

Happy Monday, y'all! xo

Monday Musings // Weekending

What a weekend! It started off great with a Girls' Night Out at our local Party at the Point. This is a party that occurs every Friday from now until mid-June...there is always a band playing and it's just a fun time. I went with a few of my girlfriends from our neighborhood wine club.

The band that night was Departure, a Journey cover band. **Don't Stop Believin'....nananananananaaaa.."

It also happened to be wine night for our club that night, so we stopped in at the hostess's house after that and I did not get home until around 1am.

I love those girls! We have some crazy-good wine nights together!

Saturday was a rainy day, so the kids and I stayed inside, got chores done and I may have snuck in a little nap during Farrah's nap time...I. Was. Exhausted. From the night before. We had a birthday party to go to for my friend's son at SkyZone later that afternoon. I was so glad it happened on the rainy day because the boys desperately needed to get some energy out. And that they did.

And then Sunday, I took all 3 kids to the pool solo - yep, Supermom status right there. ;-) I got Farrah into her new float...the water was cold since it had been raining the day before, so we didn't stay in too long, but the boys had fun.

Jake had been given the green light to go play some beach volleyball since I had gone out Friday night.

We met up later at La Hacienda for dinner, but by then, I felt pretty out of it...all the weekend's antics had caught up to me. I had been up since 4am on Friday since I've started Body Beast again and staying out until 1am that night pretty much has me needing about two straight days of sleep to get my energy back. I certainly do not bounce back like I used to! I'm actually dragging at work today because I also got up at 4am today to do my Body Beast workout as well. I really want to stick with it, so I've set my alarms on my phone to go off in the following order:

That last one is just for laughs...but if I ever make it to needing that one to go off to finally get out of bed, I'm in trouble. So far, I've gotten up on the first one and not needed the others.

Anyway, I hope I can snap out of this tired fog soon...one of my Facebook friends posted this to their timeline this morning and I felt it was more than appropriate for how I'm feeling at the moment.

Happy Monday! Hope y'all had a great weekend and have a great week! xo
