Well, This Is Random

I kinda haven't been here mentally this week...at least on the blog anyway...I've got all these half-finished posts in the waiting and when it comes another day for another post, I'm hardpressed. I think it's because ever since last week, I've had to get used to actually working in an office now and not from home. Yep, that's right...that has ended. But it's good, it means I finally get to jump into my new position full force {it has been 3 months since I've been hired after all!} So in continuing with my non-interestingness {like how I just made that shit up? Yeah I do that.} here's a post full of all things random for you.

First off, since we're talking about my days now being spent in my downtown Charleston office, here's how Monday looked this week:

Yep, she's a cutie, huh? And I get to take her to the office with me since I'm in there by myself. {Hey, gives me SOMETHING to talk to...} Only problem, she demands to nap on my lap as you can see here...and it proves difficult sometimes, especially because she keeps getting bigger {imagine that}. The office is perfect though because they just finished a cute little park right outside of it that looks over the ocean, so I have somewhere to take her for "breaks".

In other news, I have two new posts on Skinny Mom that I forgot to let you know about!

1. 6 DIY Spring Cleaning Products
2. Give your mom a workout buddy for Mother's Day

Check them out, I also recommend becoming a fan/follower of the site - lots of great info and resources. I'm so proud to be a part of it!

In following up on my fitness slump post last week, I am happy to report I've been kicking ass so far this week. On Monday, I got to the gym a little earlier than my shift started {so, like 4am} so I could knock out some cardio on the elliptical. And then I set off the fire alarm and nearly had an episode of bulimia due to nerves and an adrenalin-spike. Yesterday, I hit a Spin class after dropping the boys off at school before I had to head to work. Today, I did the cardio thing again before my gym shift early this AM and I've got an evening barre class lined up on the schedule. Sometimes I just need a kick in the ass with some self-deprecating blog post.

Well, so that's all I've got for today. I promise to be more interesting soon...those half-finished posts, well, they're doozies. {You're sooo on the edge of your seat, aren't you?}

Happy Wednesday/Hump Day!

Thursday Randomness

Ah yes, finally getting closer to that weekend now...I can feel it! Happy Thursday, y'all! Not much going on around these parts...we decorated Easter eggs last night {and Breckin only managed to break ONE!}

Also, if you haven't read them already, I suggest you hop on over to Skinny Mom and view my latest posts on dehydration, and also calf-toning exercises {hey, summer is on the way, and you need to be ready!} If you don't already follow Skinny Mom, I suggest you start - there are a lot of great mommy bloggers on there posting all sorts of articles on fitness, health, fashion, food and more. I'm so proud to be a part of it. You don't even have to be a mom to gain some good info from this site!

I feel like I'm finally on a roll getting things organized and projects done around the house. I've posted lately about our pantry makeover, the kids' art area, the organized bathroom vanity cabinet and even starting to get Tanner's room finished - see his upholstered bulletin board and his monogram art. I plan on revealing the boys' rooms soon, but I reeeeaaaalllly would love to paint them first, however, I don't know if that will happen in the next couple of months, so I may just have to post them as-is and then update once I finally am able to get them painted. Speaking of paint, we are finally going to paint our kitchen and living room a light gray...this was my final thing needed to call the kitchen makeover complete. The plan is to do it the weekend after Easter.

Speaking of the weekend after Easter, I've got the Cooper River Bridge 10K coming up that Saturday morning. For those of you not familiar, this is a crazy-popular race. It draws in over 40,000 participants. Last year, my time was 1:12, and it was my first-ever 10K...I had never run that distance all at once in my life before that. Since then, I had started training for a half marathon, and actually got to where I was running over 6 miles without a race to push me {this is big progress for me!} I fell out of training during the holidays, so I am not quite in the running shape I'd like to be, but I'm still hoping I can clock a faster time this year. Check out this craziness:

I just love participating in local races.

I am definitely in need of some new running shoes though. I'm thinking these:

Nike Air Alvord 10 Trail Running Shoes - Women
{source}

or these {mostly because they are fun, but also supposed to be good}:

ASICS GEL-Frantic 7 High-Performance Running Shoes - Women
{source}

But, I'm willing to take suggestions on any great running shoes y'all might have to recommend!

Soooo glad we're getting closer to the Easter weekend - we've got a lot of fun planned for the kids and some family coming to visit. Plus, we'll finally be graced with some nice weather after this crazy late March cold front we have been experiencing {so odd for Charleston}! xoxo

Thursday Randomness & My Roxy Review

Hey y'all! Just wanted to drop in really quick this Thursday with some randomness. I worked the 4:30am shift at my gym this morning and then worked out after that, so now I'm home and needless to say, a little drained!

Fun stuff though, you might remember that as a blogger for Skinny Mom, I got to try out the new Roxy Outdoor Fitness Collection and provide a review. The review included a dare of doing yoga on the beach in their gear...check out the post here. Here's a few of the pictures my lovely friend, Jackie, took of me on the beach for the post:

Hmmmmm...which one of these shall I make my new Facebook profile pic? LOL. We had so much fun that day...I posted on here how we ended up getting some delicious breakfast burritos and drinking a pitcher of Mimosas at Acme Cantina on Sullivan's Island.

In other news, the hubby and my oldest son, Tanner, are off to Charlotte this weekend to meet our new niece, Payton. I really wish Breckin and I could go, but unfortunately, my Siberian Husky, Tundra, is having some health issues and I'm having to give her medicine every day for at least another week. Can't take her to doggy daycare and don't want to just pay someone to drop in here and there, leaving her in a crate all day Saturday and Sunday. And who could do that to this big baby?

She has no shame.

Jake's brother and his family will be visiting here for Easter though, so not much longer until I meet the new addition. ♥

We spent a good bit of this week working on the new pantry and I can't wait to reveal it to y'all on here. I need to paint the walls and I am trying to think of a way to prettify the shelves, giving it a little "pop". So soon, my darlings, soon.

Well, that's about it for now. Don't forget to check out the Roxy post on Skinny Mom today! xoxo

Barre

I tried out Barre Evolution in Mount Pleasant yesterday and I absolutely LOVED it. I had been wanting to try out a class for some time now and was absolutely floored with delight to see a Living Social deal for it last week.

I was shaking during many of the exercises and I'm in some pain today, but it's the good kind - you know, the kind that tells you it works. You absolutely MUST try this exercise method. The ladies at Barre Evolution, Nancy (owner) and Marie, were very welcoming and friendly. The studio is very chic and the girls in class were all so nice - they ranged from all levels of fitness. I can't wait for my next class.

Tips to Survive Your First Barre Class

I encourage you to check out Barre Evolution today!

Check out my post on Skinny Mom about barre classes today.
